Morocco, Algeria, Liberia, Israel, Tunisia – Couscous

Couscous is an Maghrebi cuisine also known as a North African cuisine. It is a grain product made from semolina which is mixed with different spices and stew. It is a very old dish which goes back centuries. In the Arabic cookbooks of the 14th century there are many mentions of dishes like couscous. There are also many variations of couscous depending on the place where you are eating it.

Syria, United Arab Emirates – Mutabbal/ Baba ghanoush

Mutabal is also known as Baba Ganoush. This is like a dip made up of eggplants. In the Arabic language, the word ”BABA” means ”FATHER”. The other word is ”ġannūj” is the personal full name. Mutabal is another name for this dish in Levantine, Syria, etc. This means ”SPICED”. The culinary tradition of Israeli cuisine is from the GREATER SYRIA. In a Syrian meal, this is served with coffee. This is served also with the CONFECTIONERY SWEET, desserts, etc.

Tanzania – Pilau of Rice-Beans Mix

This food is famous in nothern parts of Tanzania with Chagga tribe taking the lead followed by Pare tribe. It includes rice and beans as the main ingredients, various kinds of recipes like Cardamon, Garlic, Cirnamon and so many others, that do have thousands of functions in our bodies.

Brown fish soup is a soup having a brown color, reason why it is being called brown soup due to the browness in color. This food comes from Bamenka, the Western region of Cameroon. But now, it has gone to all the zones of Cameroon, the center region, the North region, the Littoral.

Cameroon – Huckleberry and Chicken Gizzard With Fried Plantains

Huckleberry is a meal or accompaniment that can be eaten with so many different varieties of foods. Back in the days it was a taboo for a woman to eat gizzard so when preparing chicken, gizzard will be saved specially to the father or given to elderly males in the house, but gone are those days as such believes have been wiped out and anyone can eat chicken gizzard be it male or female and even kids too.

Nigeria – Jollof Rice

I am still writing on jollof rice, but this times, jollof rice prepared by the Nigerians. Sometimes, there is this competition on social media that, Nigerian Jollof rice is better than Cameroon Jollof rice. All I know is, all are delicious meals.

Italy – Gelato

If you ask an Italian what his/her favorite dessert is they will all say one name only “Gelato”. Gelato is a frozen dessert which is made with the combination of milk, cream and sugar. In Italy it can be easily found everywhere. It is a great family dessert and a great way to finish of the dining. Gelato is an Italian word which literally means “frozen” just like its texture and its flavor. It may look like an normal ice cream but it is not. Gelato originated in Sicily in the 16th century. The first gelato was made by Bernardo Buontalenti who was a native of Florence. Gelato is considered a prize in all of Italy and it is loved to the core.

Cameroon – Sandwich

Pakistan – Traditional Dessert Gur Ke Chawal (Jaggery Rice)

Jaggery is known as GUR in urdu language and chawal is word used for RICE so basically jaggery rice is a dish very popular here.

Cameroon – Raffia Palm Seeds With Thong Fish

Raffia Palm seeds is another type of palm that is grown up here locally. The seed is being eaten after a series of boiling. Just eating the raffia palm seeds is very good, then eating it thong fish gives it an exceptional taste. Raffia palm seeds with thong fish is cooked in the locality of the Tiko in the south West region of Cameroon.
