Cameroon – Bahana Burnt Plum With Boiled Native Cocoyams

Bahana burnt plum is a local cuisine known for the fact that it is being eaten at the sunset when the whole family is being gathered around a burning fire telling themselves stories of different kind from epic stories to comic stories with the whole family laughing cheerfully enjoying themselves. Bahana burnt plum with boiled native cocoyams is a tradition coming from the Bahana, a village locality found in the Western part of Cameroon.

Ghana – Okra Stew

Okra is one of Ghana’s national dishes. It is a common dish eating by the Ghanaians. Okra is very common in African countries like Nigeria, Cameroon etc. This dish is a draw soup.

Nigeria – Ekuru and Ata Dindin

Nigeria is a country located in western Africa, it is bordered by Niger in the north, Cameroon to the east, Benin in the west and Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic ocean to the southern part. Ekuru is originate from Yoruba tribe, people living in the southern part of the country, among three ethnic groups in tribes in Nigeria.

Garden Egg or Njacatu as it is commonly called by the English speaking people of Cameroon is a fruit vegetable. It is a common meal prepared by the people of the kom, metah, nkambe, ndu and wum clan.

Cameroon – Kwem

Kwem is a local cuisine having the taste of raw grass. It is highly appreciated by the people of the South due to the fact that it contains so much nutrients that is very vital and essential to the human body as it adds Iron and purifies the blood against acids and any harmful material in the body.

Nigeria – Edikang Ikong Soup

Cameroon is a neighbouring country to Nigeria. This is a Nigerian meal, but due to the friendship Cameroon has with Nigeria, most of the dishes prepared in Nigeria are prepared in Cameroon and vis.

Nigeria – Ofe Ugba

Ofe Ugba is a native meal for the people Imo state in Nigeria. Ofe Ugba is made up of so many ingredients. But the main ingredient that make up this dish is okra and garden egg.

Egypt – Molokhia

Molokai originated in Egypt and later spread to the Middle East, North Africa, and the eastern Mediterranean. It is a traditional Egyptian soup and is often eaten by the ancient Egyptian kingdom, but eventually became a popular dish. Many added that the soup tasted delicious, but not everyone agreed.

Rwanda – Pearice

Long time back, Tutsi soldiers (tribe in Rwanda) were given pearice dish on their long journeys, because they were traveling to very far places. Traditionally this cuisine will be prepared without any spices or meat mix, but nowadays people like to mix it with meat or potatoes, for improving taste.

One of the most favorable food in Africa is Rice, in countries like Tanzania they usually call it as “Ubwabwa “.
