Algerian / Turkish – Baklava

Baklava is one of the most popular desserts ever made in this world. It is basically pastry which is made by adding nuts, pistachios over the filo sheets which is then baked in the oven. This dessert goes way back to the times of the Ottoman Empire. There is a dish in the Turkish cuisine which resembles quite a lot with the Baklava and some say that it is the origin of Baklava. Cameroon – White Coco Yams With White Groundnut Soup

White coco yams with white soup is a local cuisine better called whitty whitty due to the white nature it possesses both in the soup and in the compliment, which is the white coco yams. This local cuisine has its origin back in the Bamileke land, from the Bafang inhabitants.

Cameroon – Koki Beans

Koki beans is a deliciuous meal which is gotten from a special specie of beans called black-eyed-peas. This beans is cultivated mostly in some villages in the north west region like in Ndu and Ntui and in the south west region in meme division particularly in Mbonge , ekombe bonji and ekondo titi. Here in Cameroon you will hear names like “mami koki” referring to women who sell koki for a livelihood.

Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish that is served as Bachan. It is a dish of traditional Korean Pickle. It is formed by fermenting vegetables, meat into salt and rice vinegar. This fermentation is known as LACTIC ACID FERMENTATION. Kimchi has sour, salty, spicy, Pungent, and tangy. There is also a story about the origin of kimchi.

Pakistan, India – Traditional Aalu Methi (Fenugreek)

Today I’m here with a new recipe which is aalu methi which is also known as fenugreek leaves. This dish is mostly eaten at lunchtime. Fenugreek derives from a Latin word faenum which means “greek hay”.

Santa in the North West region of Cameroon produces the highest quantity of cabbage in Cameroon.
