Japan – Yusheng

This is a very famous Japanese salad, made up of raw fish mixed with vegetables, and add seasonings and sauces to make it delicious. This dish has also a vegetarian version and the name is known as SOY FISH. This dish is said to be from Cantonese cuisine, after the invention this became part of Chinese cuisine and now Japanese cuisine.

Japan – Khushikatsu

This dish has huge elements to go through the name but it is simply said that this dish is deep-fried, skewered, cutlets of meat and vegetables. The name ”Khushi” means ”Skewers”. And ”Katsu” means ”Cutlets” which is definitely deep-fried. In Tokyo, this dish is famous for pork meat, while food on skewers is originated from Osaka.

Japan – Kakigori (Japanese Shaved Ice Dessert)

Kakigori is a dessert that is made up of Crushed and shaved ice with having flavors and sweet syrups. Japanese Shaved ice dessert is served with sweet syrups, some fruit chunks, condensed milk, evaporated milk. In summer, this dessert is sold every where in Japan like, dessert shops, tea café, tea stalls, ice cream stalls, etc. This dish is originated in Heian Period in which ice from the mountains bring and topped with flavors.

Japan – Champon Noodles

This dish is noodles soup having many vegetables and fish, prawns, chicken with eggs and some seasonings. This dish is inspired by Chinese cuisine and is served world widely in many Japanese restaurants. This dish is originated from NAGASAKI, Japan. This was adopted by the Japanese from the Meiji Era. The name of the dish came up by Hookein word, CHIAH-PNG, which means TO EAT MEAT. In Japan, different areas and cities have different flavored-based soup noodles.

Japan – Japanese Curry Rice (karē raisu)

Curry is basically a gravy made up of some specific ingredients, spices, yogurt, cream by adding vegetables and meat in it. karē raisu is Japanese curry. It is served on rice with some vegetables that are pickled. This is thick stew-like gravy or curry. This dish is first time introduced at the MEJI ERA and, the first dish was KARE RAISU. It is also a very popular story that Japanese curry is used to cure BERIBERI disease. For Japan, Japanese curry is the national dish of Japanese cuisine.

Japan – Yoshinoya Beef Rice Bowl (Gyudon)

This dish is a proper bowl of all elements like strips of beef with steamed rice and topped with vegetables with sometimes a fried egg. This is said as Japanese comfort food for at least 150 years. Gyudon is originally originated from the dish Gyunbae. This dish is Beef hot pot at the times of KANTO REGION, in Japan.

Japan – Okowa (Japanese Sticky Rice)

This is Japanese-style steamed sticky rice. This special rice is cooked with vegetables and meat if you like to add on. The word OKOWA came from the Japanese word, KOWAMESHI, which means ”Hard rice”. OKOWA means in this dish like we sometimes used different varieties of rice in making this dish. However, in this dish they are not hard rice, they are cooked sticky rice

Ramen is a special dish from Japanese cuisine. It is also known as SHINA SOBA or CHUKA SOBA in different areas of Japan. Two main ingredients of this Japanese ramen are broth/soup and noodles.

Satsuma-age is a Japanese fish cake that is actually a fish meat patty that is fried and served. However, the cooking procedure to make this dish is formation of surimi. Surimi is actually a paste formed of seafood meat and when mixed with white flour, then formed a solid patty. There are some stewed dishes from which surimi is dipped, including Oden and Udon.
