Tunisian, Algerian, Moroccan – Tajine

This cuisine is at the very top of the entire African cuisines and is loved by everyone. It is basically a pie like dish which consists of chicken which is cooked firstly with spices and then is added to a batter of egg and cheese and baked in the end. Tajines history goes way back to the 9th century as it was written in a folktale collection book called One Thousand and One Nights. It was made on a wooden pot through which it got its name and went on generation to generation. It is considered to be the national dish of Tunisia , Algeria and Morocco and it lives up to the recognition it gets.

Korea, Japan – Bibimbap / Korean Mixed Rice Bowl

Bibimbap is a dish from Korean national cuisine. It is actually a rice dish which means Mixed Rice. Manakeesh is a flat crispy bread topped with different seasonings and served with different sauces and vegetables. It is like a pizza but in Arabian style. It is eaten in breakfast and also be served as a snack and even in lunch and dinners. In Lebanon, Za’atar is the must for Manakeesh. This dish, Manakeesh is originated from Lebanon but now it is famous all over the Middles East. The word Manakeesh is the Arabic word Manqushah. MANQUSHAH is formed by the word NAQUSH that means ”CRAVE OUT”. This dish is originated in the Fertile Crescent.

Pakistan – Dahi Bary / Dahi Bhallay / Dahi Vada

This dish has three names as given in the title Dahi Bhallay, Dahi baray, Dahi vada. DAHI is known as yogurt in Urdu and it is the main ingredient of the dish. There are so many stores, hawkers in the street having this snack. This simple tasty and yummy snack is originated from the Indian subcontinent the Punjab region and now famous in Pakistan and India and also included in the national snack.

Zimbabwe – Bota (Milk Porridge)

In Zimbabwe Bota is native term meaning a special prepared porridge from milk, peanut butter and probably more ingredients, that is taken normally in the morning as breakfast to give a day strength.

Laos – Khao Piak Sen

In Southeast Asia, there is a country that has different date calculations. That country is Laos whom celebrating its New Year’s eve on 14 – 16 April every year. In April, you may also taste every Laos culinary that rarely available in the other month. One of the dishes is Khao Piak Sen.
