Nepal – Thakali Khana

Thakali khana is a set of the most authentic dishes of Nepal. This is the collection of every type of food which the normal person wants to eat. It includes many of the dishes that you actually like. We can say that this is the “BUCKET OF FOOD”. And this Bucket includes many of the dishes. Every restaurant adds different dishes to it according to their special dish, but some of the dishes are compulsory and without that dishes Thakali Khana is incomplete.
We can eat Thakali Khana at anytime in the day. It is a proper healthy meal of Nepal.
Most of the countries like India, Pakistan, Singapore, China, and many more like this introduce their Thakali khana but with different names. They are also the collection of food in a single meal in small quantities.
Thakali khana is not only like the regular dishes of Nepal, it is actually the most authentic and special combination of very tasty dishes of Nepal. The valley from which these unique dishes are originated called ” THAK HKOLA” and the people of Thak Khola are very good traders so they trade the dishes all around the world. Vegetables are the main dishes of Thak Khola so the people of Thak Khola like to eat vegetables.
ORIGIN
Thakali khana was first introduce in the region of Nepal which is known as “Thak khola”.

NEW THAKALI KHANA ( MODERN )
This new thakali khana is introduced in some of the restaurant with different new foods like.
RECIPE
BHAT ( RICE )
Ingredients
- Rice
- Oil
- Salt
- Water
Recipe
- Soak the rice in the water for 30 minutes and then drain it.
- Add water to the pan and heat it until it’s boiled.
- Add 1 tablespoon of salt to it.
- Add rice and boil them for 30 minutes.
- Rice is ready to eat!
LENTILS ( DAAL )
Ingredients
- lentils
- Salt
- Red chili powder
- turmeric
- coriander powder
- cumin seeds
- onions
- tomatoes
- oil
- water
Recipe
- Soak the lentils in the water for 30 minutes as well.
- Fry the onions (chopped) in the oil.
- Add all the spices to it.
- Make masala.
- Add the lentils to the pan.
- fry them and cook them for 25 minutes more.
- Lentils are ready!
FRIED POTATOES
Ingredients
- potatoes
- oil
- fenugreek
- Cumin seeds
- Red chili powder
- Salt
Recipe
- Cut potatoes in finger size.
- boiled the potatoes
- Fry them in the oil and add all the spces
- Heat it well and serve it.
MEAT
Ingredients
- Meat
- oil
- salt
- coriander
- turmeric
- red chili powder
- black pepper
- onions
- garlic paste
- ginger paste
- vinegar
- tomatoes
Recipe
- Fry the onions (chopped) in the oil.
- Add all the spices to it.
- Make masala.
- Add meat in it.
- Fry them more
- leave it on heat for 30 minutes
- serve it!
