The dish is mainly contain grinned yam and fish (the Koobi) with additional of other ingredients like onions, garlic, tomatoes and so many as one likes.
In Ghana, cultivation of yam is mostly done in household level whereby only family members using hand hoes do cultivate in small area, this in other ways affect the market of yam production. Fishing again is a home for coastal places in Ghana as people do take it more from a job, but a part of their life, that is to say you won’t get difficult in finding fish for Yam porridge (Mpotompoto)

Preparation and Cooking steps
In Ghana you will find Yam at the market at sound price. Fish are necessary but you may take it plain if fishes are not your healthier favor;
- Take 2 fresh yams, wash them and clean to remove excess dust.
- Peel them and cut into medium pieces that are suitable for the meal.

- Heat palm oil for 2 or less minutes depending on heat supplied, pour Mpotompoto into the palm oil, and mix it well.
