This is the healthiest summer drink in Pakistan. Sattur is a mixture of many cereals and oats which is very healthy to eat. It is served as a cold savory drink specially in summer. Sattu is actually prepared with roasted chickpeas. According to me, This is the number one drink for summer which is mixed with sugar, seeds and milk extract. This drink is the most refreshing way whenever you want to go out in summer you can drink this and beat the hotness. It is the INSTANT ENERGY DRINK for summer. We can prepare this with simple few ingredients and serve it. It stimulates the growth of red blood cells in human body and make you healthier and increase your immunity as well. Origin
The meaning of sattu in English is the flour of roasted chickpeas. Sattu originated in ” tibet “. It contains about 20% of protiens in it.
Ingredients
- Water according to your need
- Jaggery = 3 tbsp
- sattu = 3 tbsp
- cumin seeds = 1/2 tbsp
- barley = 3 cup
- lemon juice = 1 tsp
- black salt = 1 tsp
- mint = 1 tsp
- mango powder = 3 tbsp
- simple salt
Method
- Take a jug and add water in it with barley.
- soak this for 6 hours and then clean all the impurities from it.
- Now add all the spices in it and stir it.
- serve in glasses and add ice cubes.
- Garnish it with mint leaves and lemon pieces.
