Egypt – Hawawshi

This dish, actually a street food, depends upon the filling of meat which is filled in a pita. This is called “PITA POCKET”. Its filling is just like qeema or kofta which is stuffed in pita pockets. It is one of the most popular Egyptian dishes because it is simple, tasty, and frozen. This dish is made by the butcher who named as Ahmed al-Hawawshi.

Nigeria – Ofe Owerri

Ofe Owerri is another cuisine with an interesting background. Ofe means soup while Owerri is a capital of Imo state in the country, this correspondingly form a meaning of Owerri soup.

Mombar is one of the best sausage dishes in Egypt. Mombar is always present in the ceremony, festivals, and special occasions of Egypt because it is a symbol of Love and shows luck to their occasions. This dish is not only popular in Egypt but also in different countries like ALGERIA, TUNISIA, SYRIA, LIBYA, etc.

Tunisian / Moroccan / Israel – Shakshouka

Shakshouka is an Arabic word which means “mixture”. It is one of the best dishes of all the African cuisines. This dish consists of eggs which are poached in a tomato sauce underneath it. It is not only served as a breakfast rather it is also served as lunch and dinner. It is said that this dish came into existence in the regions of Tunisia and Yemen. After people living in the North of Africa migrated to Israel, this dish became Israel’s national dish.

Cameroon – Salvage Rice With Red Oil

Normally, rice is being cooked with groundnut oil or olive oil in most cases, but in this case, it is being prepared with red oil. Salvage rice with red oil is cooked in Adamawa region, precisely in the Adamawa plateau in the Northern part of Cameroon.

Sierra Leone – Fish balls

In Sierra Leone, Mende is the largest tribe in the country, but our cuisine today comes from the Krio people dishes. It is a taste dish as it contains the mix of fish meat and potatoes. This cuisine is very famous during cerebrations and special home events like birthday parties or harvesting ceremonies.
