Nigerian cuisine Tuwo shinkafa is originated from Hausa tribe, people leaving on the northern part of the country. Unlike tuwo masara that is prepared from maize, Tuwo shinkafa is prepared mainly from highly smashed rice and sometimes from corn.

Nigeria – Worowo Vegetable

There is a soup called Worowo vegetable soup. It is made from leaves. This leaf until you have them and harvest, you can’t prepare worowo soup. This is a Nigeria cuisine and particular from the people of Ekiti state. What accompanies worowo soup is pounded yams.

The name given to this local cuisine is interesting, it has its origin fron french. Noix de coc dans le riz saute tells you the story of the french speaking side of Cameroon.

Cameroon – Easy Spicy Rice

It is basically just rice, one of the most available food in my country. Rice has been used to feed thousands of people and it is still used today. For most occasions and donations, you will see rice being served as main dish.

Cameroon – Thong Fish Sauce With Sweat Potatoes

Thong fish sauve with sweat potatoes is a meal coming from the fish type called thong, reason why it is being called thong fish sauce with sweat potatoes. The main reason behind this meal is because the fish is not fried but instead boiled. Boiling the fish is not hard, reason why inhabitants of Sanaga love it since it is being cooked using fire wood and not a modern gas cooker. Sanaga is a locality in Central and Littoral region of Cameroon, bothered by the River Sanaga.

Cameroon – Bahana Burnt Plum With Boiled Native Cocoyams

Bahana burnt plum is a local cuisine known for the fact that it is being eaten at the sunset when the whole family is being gathered around a burning fire telling themselves stories of different kind from epic stories to comic stories with the whole family laughing cheerfully enjoying themselves. Bahana burnt plum with boiled native cocoyams is a tradition coming from the Bahana, a village locality found in the Western part of Cameroon.

Okra soup is a slimming soup which is very delicious and easy to prepare and it’s loved by many people. Here in Cameroon there are restaurants specialized just in cooking okra soup with either garri, water fufu or fufu corn. Okra soup is very delicious and nutritive and it’s good for convalescence and pregnant women.
